Things Behind The Sun is a vertically integrated investment and design firm. With a disciplined investment approach, we focus on targeting under-performing, well located properties. We aim to identify assets in markets with strong fundamentals and growing metrics. All of the properties we acquire have strong value-add characteristics that allow us to reposition the asset through capital improvements, renovations to both exteriors and interiors, improvements in operations, decreasing expenses, and improvements to marketing. With our in-house property management company, we are able to operate each asset free of onsite management which gives us full control and allows us to effectively implement the property’s business plan immediately upon acquisition. Throughout the acquisition process, we work closely with our asset management team, property management team, and construction team to formulate a unique business plan for each asset we acquire. Our mission is revitalizing tired assets, delivering outstanding results for partners and clients in both returns, aesthetic, and experience within the spaces we create.

Nicole and Maggie are both active designers and real estate investors. Nicole’s upbringing within a renowned family construction business started the path to her passion and is currently procuring her general contracting license. Maggie's 15+ years of experience in design and business management paved the way to her career in real estate. Her and Nicole’s expertise creates a well-rounded team capable of handling both the technical and creative aspects of real estate projects.

Rich is the Founder and CEO of Somers Capital, a boutique hotel investment firm holding a portfolio of real estate valued in excess of $50 Million. Rich hosts a real estate and business podcast, “The Rich Somers Report”, where he interviews top real estate investors, entrepreneurs, and athletes from all over the world.
